Diabetes Management-At Houston Endocrinology Center, we specialize in the evaluation and treatment of major problems surrounding diabetes. The three main types of diabetes are type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. At Houston Endocrinology Center, we strive to offer excellent medical care while ensuring that our patients understand the basis of their illness and all complexities of the treatment plan. Patient satisfaction is our number one goal. We will review individualized goals and progress upon follow-up visits, providing continuous motivation and accountability for a healthier lifestyle.
Dietary and Nutrition-For those who need diabetes education, we provide not only diet and physical activity education and assessment but instruct on acute/chronic complications derived from uncontrolled diabetes, meter testing, and medication application. We are certified to train and minister Medtronic, Omnipod, and Animas pumps as well as continuous glucose monitors. Furthermore, we are recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for Diabetes and Self-Management Education along with a Diabetes Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance best known as NCQA.
Clinical Studies-Our Endocrinology Center participates in many research studies to increase medical knowledge and improve targeted therapies for Endocrine disorders. We work closely with Juno Research LLC performing clinical trials to patients. This improves care by allowing our patients to make individual treatment decisions that are not available to the public - especially when standard treatments have become less effective. Please note that the decision to participate in a clinical trial is complex and may depend on several factors. Speak with your doctor before enrolling to learn more about the types of studies being done and about their risks and benefits. As a patient, you always can contact Juno Research LLC to review what studies are available.
Labs and Testing-We offer onsite laboratory for our patients. We currently affiliate with Quest Diagnostics.
Neuropathy Testing and examination is provided for patients with diabetes with advanced technology that can detect loss of sensation in your feet and hands.
Retina Screening-Diabetic retinopathy testing onsite/interpreted by an ophthalmologist.
